  • 30 October 2007[pdf] GN2-07-277: DN2.0.7,5: Fifth GÉANT2 PR Network Meeting (129 Kb)
    This Deliverable contains a report of the fifth meeting of the GÉANT2 PR Network, which took place in Lisbon, Portugal, 27 September 2007, to discuss the GÉANT2 segmentation project.
  • 2 October 2007[pdf] GN2-07-226v4 (DJ4.1.2): Report on GÉANT2 Testbed Usage (468 Kb)
    This deliverable describes the usage of the GÉANT2 testbed that has been constructed and is being operated under work item 1 of JRA4, during its first months of operation. Three user groups have successfully made use of the testbed: GN2 JA3 for its first live BoD demonstration, the FP6 EXPReS project for the evaluation of network layer performance of sub-10Gbps lightpaths and DANTE engineers for vendor interoperability testing of so-called "next generation SDH". Plans for extensive GMPLS testing (to be done as part of the GN2 JRA4 WI-02 "technology testing" programme) are currently under development
  • 28 September 2007[pdf] Feasibility Study of planned 40/100Gbps Optical Transmission and Advanced Ethernet Tests (DJ4.2.2) (765 Kb)
    This deliverable updates and expands on the outline technology testing plans (proposed to be done as part of JRA4 WI-02 tasks 1 and 2) that have previously been described at a high level in DJ4.2.1,2. It also includes some plans for a systematic evaluation of optical transmission and advanced Ethernet switching equipment made available by some commercial equipment manufacturers.

    This deliverable describes the testbed setup, its implementation and details on operational procedures including the process to request access to the testbed for specific testing activities.
  • 4 June 2007[pdf] Definition of GÉANT2 Test Plans for Fibre Operation and Lambda Switching (DJ4.2.1,2) (1503 Kb)
    The deliverable provides an overview of test plans related to experimentation with high-speed optical transmissin, advanced Ethernet and ASON/GMPLS control plane technologies. It provides a high-level work plan and a description of the testbed facilities required and currently available.
