    perfSONAR MDM 3.0 release is imminent

    perfSONAR logo  Thursday 17 April 2008: Engineers from Europe and America are taking part in a beta testing program for the latest perfSONAR MDM bundle release, one of the network monitoring tools offered by GÉANT2, the high bandwidth, pan-European research network.

    Due for release in April 2008, perfSONAR MDM 3.0 consists of a number of software applications that facilitates multi-domain access to measurement data and capabilities. perfSONAR MDM allows tracking of network performance and any issues to be quickly identified and resolved across multiple global networks. This results in a faster, more reliable end-to-end network service.

    As part of the 3.0 release, the newly developed perfSONAR MDM Web Admin interface allows the software to be easily configured by administrators. A key feature of this bundle is the capability of all the included software to authenticate users before servicing their requests.
