Sign up for the GÉANT2 Security Toolset training course
Monday 1 December 2008:
Do you deal with network security issues?
Would you like a ‘toolkit’ to deal with security issues?
If you answered ‘Yes!’ to these questions, then sign up for the GÉANT2 Security Toolset training course which is going to be held in the SWITCH offices in Zurich, Switzerland on the 2– 4 February 2009.
The course has been designed to enable you to understand and be able to use the Netflow-based GÉANT2 Security Toolset, which consists of the FlowMon appliance and the analysis tools NfSen and nfdump. The course will explain how to use FlowMon appliances to acquire Netflow data and will teach you to use nfdump and NfSen to analyse such Netflow data. Explanations about how to use the Security Toolset to identify and analyse network security threats will also form an intergart part of the course. There will also be opportunities to practice using the Toolset in a well-controlled environment.
Train the trainers
As well as the technical training described above, we will optionally train participants from GÉANT2’s NREN partners to deliver the course themselves. If you choose to attend the train-the-trainer module, you will become an Approved Trainer for the GÉANT2 Security Toolset, which then allows you to deliver the training in your local community, thus helping to drive use of the Security Toolset down to the campus level.
