CERN LHC Tier 1 NREN Meeting, Amsterdam, October 2005
Agenda
- Clarify network operations proposals
- Agree the bare minimum service that needs to be offered to LHC, i.e. a centralised co-ordination service, together with the ability to monitor on a per domain basis the staus of the lightpaths. This work includes:
- centralised fault reporting
- change management co-ordination
- trouble ticketing
- Understand better the pros-cons on the "red-box" (i.e.LHC-NOC) solution for LHC
- Take an informed decision on the way forward, starting from the bare minimum and understanding what else should be done, including the e2e performance (as opposed to status) of the lightpaths and the managed network service concept. The NRENs should also consider the commonalities with DEISA.
