Events Calendar
As part of the effort to raise awareness and understanding of the network and its potential applications, GÉANT2 will be represented at numerous conferences and exhibitions each year.
The audiences targeted by the events are typically actual and potential network users, networking engineers and the media. The events are often organised by the European Commission, due to the important support provided by co-funding from the Sixth Framework Programme.
This area provides information on events at which GÉANT2 has been or will be presented. The calendar was launched in September 2005, and includes:
- Events organised by GÉANT2, dedicated solely to the project
- Events at which GÉANT2 representatives will be speaking
- Events at which GÉANT2 is represented in any other form (such as exhibits, demonstrations or literature display)
- Internal large-scale project meetings (for example, of the NREN Policy Committee or of a joint research activity).

Date: Monday 21st Apr 2008 to Wednesday 23rd Apr 2008 Location: Crystal Gateway Marriott, Arlington, Virginia -
Date: Monday 19th May 2008 to Thursday 22nd May 2008 Location: Bruges, Belgium Annual gathering of the research networking community in Europe in which GÉANT2 will be represented with a Distributed Workshop, a Panel discussion, a Booth and Demos. -
Date: Monday 23rd Jun 2008 to Friday 27th Jun 2008 Location: Hotel Müggelsee Berlin. The Sixth GÉANT2 Technical Workshops are to be hosted by DFN in Berlin. The event is aimed at all individuals involved in GÉANT2's technical developments and is a forum to exchange information and ideas on these aspects of the project. The workshops should be attended by Access Port Managers, individuals who have taken part in the architecture workshops and individuals participating in the JRAs and SA3. Attendance is by invitation only. -
Date: Monday 4th Aug 2008 to Friday 8th Aug 2008 Location: Millennium Hotel, Queenstown, New Zealand The 26th APAN Meeting will provide delegates with an advanced networking environment for the research and international collaborations. There will be plenty of opportunity to interact with researchers and practitioners from Asia Pacific and beyond during this meeting. -
Date: Thursday 25th Sep 2008 to Friday 26th Sep 2008 Location: Faculty of Electrical Engineering Czech Technical University of Prague, Czech Republic CESNET Conference 2008 is organised by CESNET, two years after the 10th CESNET anniversary conference in 2006. This event also fulfils the promised beginning of a tradition of regular bi-annual conferences focusing on advances in high-speed communication technologies, Grids, related middleware and their sophisticated applications.
